Recently, Longhu District held the unveiling ceremony of the Demonstration Base for Overseas Chinese Sojourning Elderly Care in Longhu District, Shantou (hereinafter referred to as the "Base"), marking the official settlement of the China first demonstration base for overseas Chinese sojourning elderly care in Longhu District.

Taking advantage of the original conditions of Yuekang Elderly Care Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), the Base has renovated the third floor of the Center's elderly care building into a residential area for elderly overseas Chinese, providing characteristic elderly care services for elderly overseas Chinese, returned overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in terms of residence, meals, nursing, culture and entertainment, medical treatment and entrusted services, etc.

The Center was officially put into operation on May 30 last year, covering an area of about 0.69 hectares, with 308 elderly care and nursing beds. Next, the Base will invest about RMB 100 million in construction. It is expected to add 300 beds for elderly care and nursing after completion. The Base will also implement preferential charging policies for Longhu-originated elderly overseas Chinese, returned overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan over the age of 60.

　　全国首创华侨旅居养老示范基地在汕揭牌

　　日前，龙湖区举行汕头市龙湖区华侨旅居养老示范基地揭牌仪式，标志着全国首创华侨旅居养老示范基地正式落地龙湖。

　　该基地利用粤康颐养中心原有条件，将中心颐养楼三楼开辟装饰成为华侨长者居住区，在居住、膳食、护理、文化娱乐、医疗、委托服务等方面为华侨、归侨和港澳台同胞长者提供特色养老服务。

　　龙湖区粤康颐养中心去年5月30日正式运营，占地10.3亩，设置308个养老、护理床位。接下来将投入建设资金约1亿元，预计建成后新增养老、护理床位300个。示范基地还将对入住的60周岁以上的龙湖籍华侨、归侨和港澳台同胞长者实行收费优惠政策。
