On the morning of November 7, Mayor Zeng Fengbao presided over the 14th meeting of the fourth Urban Planning Committee of Shantou Municipality. The meeting deliberated and adopted by voting the Report on the Preliminary Preview of Land Use and Site Selection Opinions for the Project of the Section between Eastern Chaozhou and Shantou of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway (Shantou Section).

The Project of the Section between Eastern Chaozhou and Shantou of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway (Shantou Section) is an important part of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway Network. It mainly undertakes the intercity passenger flow of city clusters in eastern Guangdong and Shantou municipality-wide passenger flow, as well as part of Shantou's external passenger flow. The Project starts from the border of Longdu Town in Chenghai District, Shantou City in the north and Linxi Town in Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City, and ends at Shantou Station in the south, with a total length of the line is 29.763 kilometers. Five new stations are planned to be set along the whole line, including Longhu Station, Waisha Station, Chenghai Station, Lianyang Station and Longdu Station.

　　粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目（汕头段）拟新设5个站

　　11月7日上午，市长曾风保主持召开汕头市第四届城市规划委员会第十四次会议。会议审议并表决通过了《粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目（汕头段）用地预审与选址意见报告书》。

　　粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目（汕头段）是粤东城际铁路网重要组成部分，主要承担粤东城市群城际客流和汕头市域客流，兼顾部分汕头对外客流。项目北起汕头市澄海区隆都镇与潮州市湘桥区磷溪镇交界处，南至汕头站，线路全长29.763公里，全线拟新设5座车站，分别为龙湖站、外砂站、澄海站、莲阳站、隆都站。
