The 2021 Guangdong Teochew Beef Ball Making Skills Competition is Concluded Successfully

From November 13th to 14th, the final of the 2021 Guangdong Teochew Beef Ball Making Skills Competition was held at Shantou Culture Museum, and 62 contestants entered the final through a series of selections. The final consists of two links: professional theoretical knowledge examination and skill competition. The professional knowledge and practical ability of the contestants will be assessed in accordance with national professional standards.

The Teochew beef ball is a piece of branding of Chaoshan cuisine, and the skills of making Teochew beef balls is included in the seventh batch of Guangdong provincial representative list of intangible cultural heritage. The contestants came from all over the province, including the post-00s young people and the post-60s people. The competition provides a stage for the contestants to exchange skills. While improving the level of making beef balls, the contestants also use the competition platform to promote Chaoshan cuisine culture, tell the stories of cuisine with unique Chaoshan taste, and further protect, inherit and spread the skills of making Teochew beef balls.
