Chenghai District in Shantou City, known as the "China’s Toy Capital", has realized the transformation and upgrading from a simple toy processing industry to high-end industries such as creative industry and cultural industry. Currently, it has formed an industrial cluster with specialized division of labor cooperation in modeling design, raw materials supply, mold processing, parts manufacturing, assembly molding, animation products, exhibition trade, sales and transportation, etc.

The toy companies have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to this, Chenghai District has stepped up policy support for the companies to carry out technological transformation, accelerate the construction of industrial platforms, and deepen the expansion of the trade market. Through the development of market procurement trade and cross-border e-commerce and other business forms, it has stabilized the overall performance of foreign trade, smoothed the industrial circulation, and established a new landscape for the development of the toy industry. In the first three quarters of this year, the output value of the enterprises above designated size in Chenghai District’s toy industry was RMB 9.296 billion. From January to July, Chenghai District’s toy exports reached RMB 2.738 billion, accounting for 56.64% of the total exports in Chenghai District.

“玩具之都”汕头澄海创新升级谋突围

被誉为“中国玩具之都”的汕头市澄海区，实现了从简单的玩具加工产业向创意产业、文化产业等高端产业转型升级；目前已形成造型设计、原料供应、模具加工、零件制造、装配成型、动漫产品、展览贸易和销售运输等专业分工协作的产业群落。

　　受疫情影响，玩具企业受到不小的冲击。对此，澄海区加大政策扶持力度，助力企业开展技术改造，加快产业平台建设，深化拓展贸易市场。还通过发展市场采购贸易和跨境电商等业态，稳住外贸基本盘、畅通产业循环，构建玩具产业发展新格局。今年前三季度，澄海全区规模以上玩具产业产值92.96亿元。1至7月，全区玩具出口27.38亿元，占全区出口额的56.64%。
