On March 10, a delegation led by Keiji Kamei, Consul General of the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, visited Shantou and conducted in-depth discussions with Shantou City on further strengthening the communication between Shantou and Japan, and deepening economic, trade and cultural cooperation and exchanges.

During the discussion, Mayor Zeng Fengbao hoped that the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou would take this opportunity to build more "bridges", so that more Japanese enterprises and friends would come to Shantou for inspection and sightseeing, for the purpose of expanding the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Shantou and Japan, and achieving win-win development.

Keiji Kamei expressed his gratitude to Shantou for its strong support and assistance to Japanese-funded enterprises, so that they can develop in Shantou with peace of mind. He said that the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou would give full play to its role as a bridge and bond, actively build the platform for exchanges and cooperation, deepen mutual understanding, enhance the friendship between the people of Shantou and Japan, and promote the strengthening of cooperation and exchanges between Shantou and Japan, for the purpose of achieving mutual benefit and common development.

　　3月10日，日本国驻广州总领馆总领事龟井启次一行莅汕，与我市就进一步加强汕日两地之间沟通，深化经贸文化合作交流进行深入探讨。

　　市长曾风保在座谈中希望日本国驻广州总领馆借此契机，牵线搭桥，让更多的企业、日本友好人士来汕头考察和观光旅游，扩大汕头与日本的经贸文化交流，实现共赢发展。

　　龟井启次对汕头给予日资企业大力支持和帮助，让企业能够安心在汕头发展表示感谢。他表示日本国驻广州总领事馆将充分发挥桥梁纽带作用，积极搭建交流合作平台，深化相互了解，增进两地人民友谊，推动双方加强合作交流，实现互利共赢、共同发展。
