The Project of the Section between Eastern Chaozhou and Shantou of the new Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway is an important part of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway Network. It is located in the territories from Chaozhou City and Shantou City. The route starts from Chaozhou East Railway Station in the north, connects with the Section between Eastern Chaozhou and Chaoshan Airport of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway, passes through Xiangqiao District in Chaozhou City, as well as Chenghai District and Longhu District in Shantou City, ends at Shantou Railway Station in the south, and connects with the Section between Shantou and Chaoshan Airport of Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway. Recently, the publicity of environmental impact assessment on the Project of the Section between Eastern Chaozhou and Shantou was completed.

The total length of the route of the Project is 42.548 kilometers, including 11.797 kilometers in the territory of Chaozhou and 30.751 kilometers in the territory of Shantou, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 96.68%. There are 8 stations designed on the whole route, including 6 elevated stations and 2 underground stations. The construction standards include intercity railway, double-track, and electric traction. The design speed target value is 160 km/h, and the speed-up conditions are partially reserved.

　　新建粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段完成环评公示

　　新建粤东城际铁路潮州东至汕头段项目是粤东地区城际铁路网的重要组成部分，位于潮州和我市境内，线路北起潮州东站，与粤东城际铁路潮州东至潮汕机场段贯通，途经潮州市湘桥区及汕头市澄海区、龙湖区，南止于汕头站，与粤东城际铁路汕头至潮汕机场段贯通。日前，潮州东至汕头段项目已完成环评公示。

　　该项目线路全长42.548公里，其中潮州市境内 11.797公里，汕头市境内30.751公里，桥隧比96.68%。全线共设车站8座，其中高架站6座，地下站2座。建设标准为城际铁路，双线，电力牵引，设计速度目标值160公里/小时，局部预留提速条件。
