On the afternoon of June 28, Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong held the unveiling ceremony of the "Class A Tertiary Specialized Hospital ". This is the Class A Tertiary Specialized Hospital.

Shantou International Eye Center is the only non-profit ophthalmology specialized hospital directly under the Health Commission of Guangdong Province. It is jointly managed by Shantou University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, undertaking the tasks including clinical care, teaching and scientific research, philanthropic blindness prevention, and the inauguration of the hospitals specialized prevention and health care, etc. For 20 years since its establishment, the medical energy level and core competitiveness of Shantou International Eye Center have been continuously improved, its regional popularity and influence have been fully demonstrated, and it has gradually developed into an international excellent ophthalmology center. On June 15, the Health Commission of Guangdong Province issued a document to announce that Shantou International Eye Center passed the review for the Class A Tertiary Hospital and was officially approved as the Class A Tertiary Specialized Hospital.

　　汕头首家三级甲等专科医院揭牌

　　6月28日下午，汕头大学·香港中文大学联合汕头国际眼科中心举行“三级甲等专科医院”揭牌仪式，成为我市首家三级甲等专科医院。

　　汕头国际眼科中心是广东省卫健委唯一直属的非营利性眼科专科医院，由汕头大学与香港中文大学联合管理，承担着临床医疗、教学科研、防盲公益、预防专科医院揭牌保健等任务。创办20年来，医院医疗能级和核心竞争力不断提升，区域知名度和影响力全面彰显，逐步发展为国际优秀的眼科中心。6月15日，广东省卫健委发文公布，汕头国际眼科中心通过三级医院等级评审，正式获批为三级甲等专科医院。
