On August 30, with the completion of concrete pouring on the last area of the top roof of the main body of the building of Huilai Railway Station of Shantou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway, the main structures of new buildings of five stations along the whole line of Shantou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway (Lufeng South Railway Station, Lufeng East Railway Station, Huilai Railway Station, Chaonan Railway Station, and Shantou South Railway Station), which were constructed by China Railway Construction Group, were fully completed, entering the steel structure construction stage.
The design of each station building of Shantou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway adopts the design concept of "integrated development of the station and the city" and "one featured landscape for one station", and employs modern materials and modeling methods to convey the charm of traditional buildings, with rich urban characteristics. Among others, Chaonan Railway Station, which is located in the territory of Shantou, draws on Chaonan's unique regional culture, with "sailing the boat in raging waves" as the design concept, and with "riding the waves and steering forward the ship" as the design intention, interpreting new modern landscape of Chaonan people standing at the forefront. The architectural design of Shantou South Railway Station is themed on "Shantou forging ahead like a gigantic ship breaking through strong winds and heavy waves", the design draws on the characteristics of Shantou's marine culture, and the architectural form is inspired by the seagull taking off, implying the most valued quality that with a time-honored history and profound and rich civilizations, Shantou has been forging ahead boldly and growing stronger and better.

汕汕高铁5座新建站房主体封顶
8月30日，伴随着汕汕高铁惠来站主体顶层顶板最后一方混凝土的浇筑完成，由中铁建设承建的汕汕高铁全线新建5座站房——陆丰南站、陆丰东站、惠来站、潮南站、汕头南站主体结构全面封顶，进入钢结构施工阶段。
汕汕铁路各个站房设计采用“城站融合”“一站一景”的设计理念，采用现代材料和造型手法，传达传统建筑的神韵，极富城市特色。其中，位于汕头境内的潮南站汲取潮南独特的地域文化，以“涛海行船”为设计理念，以海中行船乘风破浪作为设计意向，诠释潮南勇立潮头的现代新景；汕头南站建筑设计则以“翼翔沧海，逐浪汕头”为立意，设计汲取了汕头海洋文化的特征，建筑形态取意于正在振翅腾飞的海鸥，隐喻汕头在悠久的历史积淀下，奋勇拼搏、不断超越自我的精神品质。
