Shantou Will Add Another New Passage Crossing Shantou Bay

Following the Shantou Bay Bridge, Queshi Bridge, Jinchao Bridge and Shantou Bay Tunnel that have been completed and opened to traffic, as well as the Niutianyang Fast Track and Niutianyang Bridge that are being constructed, Shantou will build another new highway passage crossing Shantou Bay. On December 1, Shantou issued the Announcement for Solicitation of Comments on the Project of New Passage Crossing Shantou Bay, which solicited a wide range of public comments and suggestions on the project name, cross-sea section plan, cross-sea bridge plan, and offshore sightseeing platform plan.


The Project of New Passage Crossing Shantou Bay (tentative name) is located 4 kilometers east of the Bay Bridge. The starting point is in the Xinjin area of East Coastal New Town. The passage crosses Shantou Bay from north to south and ends in the Haojiang East Lake area (Shantou Free Trade Zone connecting with Guangda Avenue). The total length of the passage is about 8.2 kilometers, of which the cross-sea section is about 4 kilometers. The Project is a direct-connection passage for the collection, distribution, and transportation system of the coastal economic belts from the Guang'ao Port Area and the Free Trade Zone to the Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone and the Liuhe Industrial Park, enabling rapid direct connection between two major national development platforms and multiple industrial platforms. Meanwhile, it is also a cross-sea passage reserved by the Guangdong Coastal Tourism Highway Plan. It can effectively link and integrate tourism and cultural resources along the passage, which is conducive to promoting new business forms for the integrated development of culture and tourism.


According to the Announcement for Solicitation of Comments, there are two plans for the cross-sea section of the Project. Among others, one plan is to build a bridge for the whole cross-sea section, adopting the plan for bridge location with a large angle of intersection with the waterway. Another plan is to build a tunnel for the whole cross-sea section. On the north bank, through the renovation of Jinwan Park, the underground interchange is set for connecting the tunnel with East Coast Avenue; on the south bank, the tunnel is exposed to the ground after passing under the Donghu Central Road.

  汕头将再添跨汕头湾新通道

  继建成通车的汕头海湾大桥、礐石大桥、金潮大桥、汕头海湾隧道以及在建的牛田洋快速通道牛田洋特大桥后,汕头将迎来另一条跨汕头湾的新公路通道。12月1日,我市发布《跨汕头湾新通道工程征求意见公告》,就项目名称、跨海段方案、跨海桥梁方案、海上观景平台方案等内容广泛征求公众意见建议。

  跨汕头湾新通道项目(暂定名)位于海湾大桥以东4公里,起点在东海岸新城新津片区,路线自北向南跨越汕头湾,终点至濠江东湖片区(汕头综保区接广达大道)。路线总长约8.2公里,其中跨海段约4公里。该项目是广澳港区、综保区至华侨试验区、六合产业园区等沿海经济带集疏运系统的直接联系通道,实现快速直连两大国家级发展平台和多个产业平台。同时也是广东滨海旅游公路规划预留的跨海通道,可有效串联整合沿线旅游文化资源,有利于推动文旅融合新业态的发展。

  根据征求意见公告,工程跨海段方案有两个,一个是全桥方案,采用与航道大交角的桥位方案。另一个是全隧方案,北岸通过改造津湾公园设置地下互通立交与东海岸大道相接,南岸下穿东湖中心路后露出地面。
