On December 1, the Shantou Municipal People's Government issued an announcement for approving the expansion of Shantou High-tech Zone to the Liuhe Industrial Park. The scope of the newly expanded area is from the coastal seawall in the east to the Lianyang River in the south, Jinhong Highway in the west, and Yifeng Creek in the north, covering an area of about 30.1 square kilometers. Thus, the total planned area of Shantou High-tech Zone is expanded from 30 square kilometers to more than 60 square kilometers.

Shantou High-tech Zone was established in 1992 and upgraded to the first national-level high-tech zone in eastern Guangdong in 2017. In 2018, the area of Shantou High-tech Zone was expanded from 3 square kilometers to nearly 30 square kilometers, and now it is expanded to more than 60 square kilometers, providing a wider space carrier for the industrial upgrading of the high-tech zone and the whole city.

　　汕头高新区扩区至六合产业园

　　12月1日，汕头市人民政府发布公告，同意汕头高新技术产业开发区扩区至六合产业园，新扩区范围为：东至滨海海堤、南至莲阳河、西至金鸿公路、北至义丰溪，面积约为30.1平方公里。汕头高新区总规划面积由30平方公里扩展至60多平方公里。

　　汕头高新区设立于1992年，2017年升级为粤东首家国家级高新区。2018年，高新区面积从3平方公里拓展到近30平方公里，如今又扩展至60多平方公里，为高新区乃至全市产业升级提供了更加广阔的空间载体。
