On March 23, Consul General of Japan in Guangzhou Keiji Kamei and his entourage visited Shantou. Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the Shantou Municipal Committee, sincerely welcomed the arrival of Consul General Keiji Kamei and his entourage. He hoped that the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou would continue to pay attention to and support for Shantou's development, and deepen cooperation between Shantou and Japan in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, education, culture, and tourism, etc. The Shantou Municipal Committee and Shantou Municipal People’s Government would continue to improve investment, entrepreneurship, and living environments so that Japanese enterprises in Shantou can feel at ease about their development, work and living. Keiji Kamei highly acclaimed the achievements made in the exchanges and cooperation between Japan and Shantou. He said that the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou would give full play to its role as a bridge and bond, actively build the platform for exchanges and cooperations, further deepen people-to-people exchanges and industrial cooperation between Shantou and Japan, and strive to achieve mutual benefits, win-win outcomes and common development.
