On April 16, the 2023 (5th) Shantou Nan’ao Trail-Running Challenge (hereinafter referred to as the "Trail-Running Challenge") kicked off with gunshots at the Tropic of Cancer Plaza in Qing’ao Bay. A total of 1,500 trail runners from all over China and foreign friends, including several China’s top trail runners, participated in the Trail-Running Challenge in mountains and seas.

Since the Trail-Running Challenge was held in 2018, it has become the most distinctive local sports brand in eastern Guangdong. Since the Nan’ao Trail-Running Challenge was held in 2018, it has become the most distinctive local sports brand in eastern Guangdong. This year's event set up five kinds of tracks, including 60-kilometer, 40-kilometer and 20-kilometer professional competition groups, as well as 10-kilometer experience group and 5-kilometer parent-child group, covering sports people of more ages. The Trail-Running Challenge connects the natural landscape, cultural attractions, mountains, forests and temples, ancient Tea Horse Road, and scenic fishing towns in Nan'ao Island, fully showcasing Nan'ao's superior natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. A dynamic special bazaar was also set up at the venue of this year's event. Participants can purchase sports equipment and enjoy special cuisines on site, and acquire a richer participation experience.

　　4月16日，2023（第五届）汕头南澳越野挑战赛在青澳湾北回归线广场鸣枪开赛。1500名来自全国各地的越野跑爱好者、外籍友人共赴山海之约，其中有多名国内顶尖选手。

　　南澳越野挑战赛自2018年举办以来，已成为粤东地区最具本土特色的体育品牌。本届赛事设置60公里、40公里、20公里专业竞赛组，还设置10公里体验组、5公里亲子组五种赛道，覆盖更多年龄段运动人群。赛事将南澳岛的自然景观、人文景点、山林庙宇、茶园古道、风情渔乡串联起来，充分展现南澳岛的优越自然风光与丰厚文化底蕴。今年活动现场还特别设置了活力集市，参与者可在现场采购体育设备、品鉴特色美食，拥有更丰富的参与体验。
