On May 13, the “6th Chinese White Dolphin Conservation Awareness Day” event, which was sponsored by the Chinese White Dolphin Conservation Union, the Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Branch of the China Wildlife Conservation Association, the Shantou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the People’s Government of Nan'ao District, was held in Nan'ao County, Shantou City.

The theme of this year's main venue event was “Crossing over the Tropic of Cancer and Conserving the Sea Elves”. At the event site, Shantou University and the Guangdong Nanpeng Islands Marine Ecology National Nature Reserve Administration jointly signed the “Chinese White Dolphin and Habitat Conservation Cooperation Mechanism Agreement”.Afterwards, a 1000-person hiking group consisting of social caring people and students from Shantou University crossed over the Tropic of Cancer and walked around Nan'ao Island for 20 kilometers. Along the way, they publicized Chinese white dolphins and marine environmental protection knowledge to the public, and guided them to pay attention to Chinese white dolphins and marine ecological protection.

　　第六届中华白海豚保护宣传日活动在汕头南澳县启动

　　5月13日，由中华白海豚保护联盟、中国野生动物保护协会水生野生动物保护分会、汕头市农业农村局、南澳县人民政府主办的“第六届中华白海豚保护宣传日”活动在我市南澳县举行。

　　今年主会场活动以“穿越北回归线，守护海洋精灵”为主题。在活动现场，汕头大学和广东南澎列岛海洋生态国家级自然保护区管理局共同签署“中华白海豚及栖息地保护合作机制协议”。随后，由社会爱心人士和汕头大学学生组成的穿越北回归线千人徒步团环南澳岛徒步20公里，沿途向市民群众宣传中华白海豚和海洋环境保护知识，引导大家重视中华白海豚和海洋生态保护。
