On June 8, the major event of the 2023 World Oceans Day and National Oceans Promotion Day was held in Shantou. At the event, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China officially announced the list of the first batch “Harmonious and Beautiful Island”, which included 33 islands from all over China. Shantou's Nan'ao Island and 6 other islands in Guangdong Province were included in the list.

Nan'ao Island has high-quality natural resources such as the Nanpeng Archipelago National Nature Reserve, Island National Forest Park, and Qing’ao Bay National Ocean Park, time-honored cultural and historical resources such as Song Dynasty Water Well, Money Island, and Zong Bing House, as well as diverse innovative industries such as the ecological farms, offshore wind power, aquafarms, and health preservation through forest tourism with unique features. It is a harmonious and beautiful garden island with excellent ecology, abundant resources, complete facilities, honest and friendly people, and new industries.

　　汕头南澳岛获评全国“和美海岛”

　　6月8日，2023年世界海洋日暨全国海洋宣传日主场活动在我市举办。活动中，自然资源部正式公布首届“和美海岛”名单，全国33座海岛入选。我市南澳岛与广东省其他6座海岛共同上榜。

　　南澳岛拥有南澎列岛国家级自然保护区、海岛国家森林公园、青澳湾国家级海洋公园等优质自然资源，以及宋井、金银岛、总兵府等悠久人文历史资源，还有独具特色的生态养殖场、海上风电、海洋牧场、森林康养等多元创新产业，是生态优、物质丰、设施齐、民风淳、产业新的和美花园海岛。
