From August 4 to 5, the 2023 Eastern Guangdong Overseas Chinese Hometown Wushu Culture Festival and the "Sports Lottery Cup" 3rd Maritime Silk Road Wushu Elite Competition were held in Baoao City, Chenghai District, Shantou City.

This cultural festival was held for the purpose of “making friends through Wushu (martial arts)”, strengthening the tie with hometown, and promote Chinese Wushu (martial arts) culture. More than 2,000 athletes and art performers participated in the event. At the opening ceremony, the spectacular performances included Yingge Dance, Lion Dance, Wushu (martial arts), and theatrical performances starred by outstanding young artists from Shantou City. On the venue of the event, there was a showcase of “100-Meter Paper-Cutting • Theme of Chenghai”, as well as live demonstrations of excellent folk traditional craftsmanship and unique techniques of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and folk artists from Shantou City, Chaozhou City and Jieyang City, including paper-cutting, Chaoshan embroidery, wood carving, painting inside the vase, Chaoshan opera helmets, sugar figurine making, egg painting, and egg carving. The Wushu Elite Competition includes Tai-chi, Southern Boxing, optional Changquan, other boxing, other instruments, pair-exercise, Health Qigong, aerobics, softball, Mulan Fist, and group events. It was a grand event of martial arts with many participants and a rich variety of boxing contests.

2023年粤东侨乡武术文化节在汕举行

　　8月4日至5日，2023年粤东侨乡武术文化节暨“体彩杯”第三届海上丝绸之路武术精英大赛在汕头市澄海区宝奥城举行。

　　本次文化节旨在以武会友，增进乡情，弘扬中华武术文化，参赛运动员和参演文艺人员达2000余人。开幕式上，英歌舞、醒狮、武术及汕头市优秀青年文艺家领衔的文艺表演等节目精彩亮相。活动现场还有《百米剪纸·澄海卷》展示，以及潮汕三市非遗传承人和民间艺人现场展示剪纸、潮绣、木雕、瓶内画、潮剧盔头、捏糖人、蛋画、蛋雕等优秀民间传统手艺、独门技艺。武术精英大赛竞赛项目包括太极类、南拳类、自选长拳类、其他拳术、其他器械、对练项目、健身气功、健身操、柔力球、木兰拳以及集体项目等，是一次规模大、参赛人数多、拳种丰富的武术盛会。
