On August 16, the 2023 China Digital Economy Innovation Development Conference grandly kicked off in Shantou. With the theme of “Partnering with Overseas Chinese Digital Talents Toward a Better Future - Advancing New High-quality Industrialization”, the Conference focused on building a national platform for industrial exchanges and cooperation as well as an important window for international cooperation in the digital economy.

This conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and co-organized by 12 organizations, including the Shantou Municipal People's Government and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province. Sixteen academicians including Xu Ningsheng attended this conference. More than 1,000 attendees to the opening ceremony of this conference included the representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, relevant departments and industry associations in Guangdong Province and Shantou City, representatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese leaders, experts and scholars in the field of digital economy at home and abroad, representatives of domestic leading enterprises in the digital field, and media reporters. At the opening ceremony, 7 domestic leading enterprises representing the digital economy signed contracts with Shantou Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone and Longhu District. A total of 26 key projects were signed, with a total investment of about RMB 16 billion, which is expected to drive the industrial scale to more than RMB 100 billion.

2023中国数字经济创新发展大会在汕头隆重开幕

　　8月16日，2023中国数字经济创新发展大会在汕头隆重开幕。本次大会以“聚数联侨 数创未来－高质量推进新型工业化”为主题，聚力打造国家级数字经济产业交流合作平台、数字经济国际合作的重要窗口。

　　本次大会由工业和信息化部、广东省人民政府联合主办，汕头市人民政府、广东省工业和信息化厅等12家单位共同承办。许宁生等16位院士出席大会。工业和信息化部和广东省、汕头市有关部门、行业协会，侨胞侨领代表，国内外数字经济领域专家、学者，国内数字领域头部企业代表和媒体记者等1000余人参加大会开幕式。开幕式上，国内7家数字经济代表性头部企业与我市华侨试验区、龙湖区进行签约，签约重点项目共26个，总投资额约160亿元，预计带动产业规模将超千亿元。
