On the morning of October 21, Thanakorn Seriburi, Senior Vice Chairman of Thailand Chia Tai Group and President of the Thai-Chinese Investment and Trade Association, and his entourage visited Shantou. They exchanged ideas with relevant leaders of Shantou on strengthening cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, industry, and cultural tourism.

During the meeting, Mayor Zeng Fengbao hoped that Chia Tai Group would, as always, continue to concern, support and participate in the construction and development of their hometown Shantou, and lead more overseas Chinese to Shantou for study and exchange, business development and investment, leisure and vacation, and seize opportunities for cooperation and development. The CPC Shantou Municipal Committee and Shantou Municipal People's Government will provide higher-quality and more convenient service guarantees for overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and enterprises to innovate, start businesses, work and live in Shantou. Thanakorn Seriburi said that Chia Tai Group would continue to leverage its advantages, make thorough investigation on industrial projects, explore cooperation opportunities, and contribute to the development of Shantou Special Economic Zone; continue to act at the bond and bridge for promoting the "China-Thailand family-like relationship", and lead more second-generation and third-generation overseas Chinese to visit Shantou and boost the economic and social development of their hometown Shantou.
