On the morning of November 9, the Canadian Cantonese Delegation for Visiting Eastern Guangdong visited Shantou. The leaders of the Delegation included Lin Shaoyi, President of the Canton Chamber of Commerce Canada, and Honorary President of the Global Association of the Cantonese; and William Ma, Founding President of the Global Association of the Cantonese in Canada. The Delegation had in-depth exchanges with relevant leaders of Shantou on deepening cooperation for development and pursuing win-win progress.

During the meeting, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, hoped that the Canton Chamber of Commerce Canada and all the elites of Cantonese origin would, as always, continue to care for, support and participate in the construction and development of Shantou, guide more overseas Chinese in Canada to Shantou to find their roots, visit their families, have tour and sightseeing, and invest and develop businesses, and contribute their wisdom and strength to building Shantou Special Economic Zone in such a way as to achieve better and higher-quality results. Lin Shaoyi said that the economic and social development of Shantou are seeing rapid progress in recent years, and the overseas Chaoshan business people are confident about the development prospects of their hometown. The Canton Chamber of Commerce Canada will continue to give full play to its role as a bridge and bond, spare no effort to publicize the positive development trends in Guangdong and Shantou, and continue to call on entrepreneurs in Canada to focus more on their hometown and work together to share business opportunities and pursue common development.

　　11月9日上午，由加拿大粤商总会会长、广府人联谊总会荣誉会长林少毅，加拿大广府人联谊总会创会会长马威廉率领的加拿大广府人粤东访问团一行莅汕，与我市就深化合作发展、努力实现共赢进行深入交流。
