On the morning of December 16, a business delegation led by Fang Qiaosheng, President of the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia and Chairman of Cambodia's Canadia Investment Holding Plc., visited Shantou and had in-depth exchanges with relevant leaders of Shantou on tapping the potential of overseas Chinese, complementing each other's strengths and achieving win-win results.

During the meeting, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, hoped that President Fang Qiaosheng and the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia would, as always, care about, support for, and participate in the construction and development of Shantou, and encourage and guide more overseas Chinese to invest and do business in Shantou, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of their hometown Shantou as well. Fang Qiaosheng said that in recent years, the advantages of Shantou as a hometown for overseas Chinese have become increasingly prominent, and the Teochew business people in Cambodia have full confidence in the development prospects of their hometown Shantou. The Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia will continue to give full play to their role as a bridge and bond, take the opportunity to assist Shantou in hosting "Two Grand Events of Teochew People" (the 22th Teochew International Convention and the 10th World Chaoshan Entrepreneurs Convention in 2024), make the efforts of all sectors including overseas Chinese in Cambodia, actively promote agricultural trade, industrial cooperation, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the Shantou and Cambodia, and contribute to Shantou's modernization drive.
