Recently, Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province announced the notice on the project initiation for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory. The "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory on the Preparation and Application of Ordered Structural Materials"(hereinafter referred to as the “Joint Laboratory”), which would be led by Shantou University and jointly built by three parties including Shantou University, the University of Hong Kong and Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Guangdong Laboratory, was successfully approved. This is also the second "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory" approved to be established in Shantou. It is the highest-level Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperative scientific research platform approved by Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology.

The Joint Laboratory will mainly develop nanoscale science and technology, with main research directions toward the controllable preparation of functional nanomaterials and their application in the fields of biomedicine and photoelectric function, focusing on the nanoscale control of materials, mesoscopic scale effect and mechanism research, and studying their application in the fields of photoelectric, catalysis and biological medicine.

　　汕头获批第二个“粤港澳联合实验室”

　　近日，广东省科技厅公布粤港澳联合实验室建设立项通知，由汕头大学牵头、香港大学与化学与精细化工广东省实验室三方共建的“粤港有序结构材料的制备与应用联合实验室”（简称联合实验室）成功获批。这也是汕头获批的第二个“粤港澳联合实验室”，是省科技厅批准的最高级别粤港澳合作科研平台。

　　联合实验室以纳米科学与技术为主要建设领域，主要研究方向为面向功能纳米材料的可控制备及其在生物医药和光电功能领域方面的应用，侧重于材料纳米尺度控制、介观尺度效应以及机制研究，并研究其在光电、催化及生物医药等领域的应用。
