On January 16, five new varieties of Phalaenopsis orchids, including the "Shannong Zixia Phalaenopsis Orchid", "Shannong Xiaohongxing Phalaenopsis Orchid", "Shannong Huolong Phalaenopsis Orchid", "Shannong Jinxiang Phalaenopsis Orchid", and "Shannong Yanzhi Phalaenopsis Orchid", which were independently cultivated by Shantou Institute of Agricultural Sciences, passed the field identification of new varieties of Phalaenopsis orchid after the Office of Guangdong Provincial Crop Variety Registration Committee organized experts to conduct on-site inspections and thorough discussions.

Up to now, Shantou Institute of Agricultural Sciences has cultivated and owned independent intellectual property rights of 22 new varieties of Phalaenopsis orchids including "Shannong Phoenix", which have been approved by Guangdong Province as new varieties; and has cultivated 16 new varieties including "Shannong Butterfly", which have been registered as international new varieties of orchids, facilitating the promotion and application of new and excellent varieties of Phalaenopsis orchids with independent intellectual property rights owned by China.

　　汕头蝴蝶兰新增5种新品

　　1月16日，由市农科所自主选育的“汕农紫霞蝴蝶兰”“汕农小红星蝴蝶兰”“汕农火龙蝴蝶兰”“汕农金香蝴蝶兰”“汕农胭脂蝴蝶兰”共5个蝴蝶兰新品种，经广东省农作物品种审定委员会办公室组织专家现场考察及充分讨论后，通过蝴蝶兰新品种现场鉴定。

　　目前，市农科所已育成“汕农凤凰”等22个拥有自主知识产权的蝴蝶兰新品种通过广东省品种审定，“汕农彩蝶”等16个新品种获国际兰花新品种登录，促进了我国自主知识产权蝴蝶兰新优品种的推广应用。
