On January 25, the metal roof of the Phase I Project of New Shantou Railway Station, which is an important node of the new channel of coastal high-speed rail, was installed 5 days ahead of schedule. The profiles of the main station building and the rain canopies on both sides were initially formed, and the Project fully entered the stage of decoration as well as mechanical and electrical installation.

The new Shantou Railway Station is located on the east side of the existing Shantou Railway Station in Longhu District, Shantou City, with a total scale of 11 platforms and 24 railway lines. The new station buildings as a whole will be constructed in two phases: The construction of the east station building as Phase I Project is planned to meet the opening and operation conditions by the end of 2024, while the reconstruction and expansion of the existing west station building as Phase II Project is planned to meet the opening and operation conditions in 2027. The new Shantou Railway Station is committed to building itself into a high-speed rail hub connecting central and southern China, eastern China and southeast coastal areas, thus forming an urban comprehensive business district with stations within the city while cities within the station.

　　新建汕头站一期工程金属屋面封顶

　　1月25日，沿海高铁新通道重要节点——新建汕头站一期工程金属屋面提前5天安装完成，主站房及两侧雨棚轮廓初显，项目全面进入装饰装修和机电安装阶段。

　　新建汕头站位于我市龙湖区既有汕头站东侧，站场总规模11台24线。站房整体分两期建设，一期新建东站房计划于2024年底具备开通运营条件，二期既有西站房改扩建施工计划于2027年具备开通运营条件，致力于打造连通中南、华东及东南沿海地区的高铁枢纽，形成城中有站、站中有城的城市综合商务区。
