On the evening of February 24, the 2024 Shantou Small Park International Lantern Festival Fair was grandly opened, creating a happy and festive atmosphere with distinct and colorful lantern feasts and unique Chaozhou style romance, and inviting the global Chinese to "attend the 22nd Convention of Teochew International Federation and the 10th World Chaoshan Entrepreneurs Convention in Shantou in 2024".

The theme of this year's Lantern Festival is the "Dragon Taking off, Shantou Prospering in All Sectors”. On the five streets in the core area of the Small Park, people were immersed in the "international flavors" of Shantou as a hometown of overseas Chinese. Inspired by the iconic buildings and unique products from five countries (including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and the United Arab Emirates) in which overseas Chinese of Chaoshan origin settled, the organizers designed the theme featured lanterns and create unique and exotic streets. In addition, the event was embedded with immersive and interactive sessions such as the lantern fair, ancient style parade, intangible cultural heritage experience, lantern riddles for the Lantern Festival, dragon dance, and Yingge dance performance, comprehensively demonstrating Shantou's proud history and unique folk culture.

　　2024汕头小公园国际元宵灯会启幕

　　2月24日晚，2024汕头小公园国际元宵灯会盛大启幕，以异彩纷呈的花灯盛宴和独具特色的潮式浪漫，营造欢乐喜庆节日氛围，并向全球华人发出“相约2024汕头两大盛会”的邀约。

　　本届灯会以“龙腾汕头，百业兴旺”为主题。在小公园核心区的5条街道，满满的侨乡“国际范”扑面而来，主办方选取新加坡、马来西亚、泰国、柬埔寨、阿联酋5个潮汕华侨聚居国家的标志性建筑和特色物产，设计主题特色花灯，打造特色异国风情街。此外，活动还嵌入灯会集市、古风巡游、非遗体验、元宵灯谜、舞龙、英歌展演等沉浸互动环节，全面展示汕头浓厚的历史底蕴和独特的民俗文化。
