On the afternoon of March 28, Khamis Mussa Omar, Ambassador of Tanzania to China, and some officials from the embassies and consulates of Laos, Uzbekistan, Tunisia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and other countries in China were invited to visit Shantou City to hold a symposium with relevant officials of Shantou City on deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and other fields.
Mayor Zeng Fengbao welcomed the visiting delegation to participate in the 3rd China Chaoshan International Textile and Garment Exhibition (CTGE) and conduct inspection visits in Shantou. He hoped that the ambassadors, consulates general, and consuls general of the countries in China would, as always, care about and support the construction and development of Shantou, and promote closer friendship, more integrated economic development, and more active cultural exchanges between relevant countries and Shantou, for the purpose of achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Khamis Mussa Omar hoped that Shantou’s enterprises would visit Tanzania more for sightseeing, investment and business operations, for the purpose of further strengthening friendly exchanges and expanding space for cooperation. He would fully support the deepening of exchanges and cooperation between Tanzania and Shantou in tourism, economy and trade, culture and other aspects. The officials from the embassies and consulates of Laos, Uzbekistan, Tunisia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and other countries in China also said that there are close people-to-people exchanges and commercial links between relevant countries and Shantou, and there is still considerable space for further cooperation; and that the consulates general would continue to give full play to their role as bridges, and promote win-win development of advantageous industries between relevant countries and Shantou.

3月28日下午，坦桑尼亚驻华大使哈米斯·奥马尔、老挝、乌兹别克斯坦、突尼斯、泰国、英国等国驻华使领馆官员一行应邀来访，与我市就深化经贸、文化等领域合作进行座谈交流。
市长曾风保欢迎访问团一行莅汕参加第三届中国·潮汕国际纺织服装博览会并进行考察访问，希望各国驻华大使、总领事馆和总领事一如既往关心支持汕头的建设和发展，推动双方友谊更加紧密、经济发展更加融合、文化交流更加活跃，实现互利共赢。
哈米斯·奥马尔希望汕头企业多到坦桑尼亚观光考察、投资兴业，进一步加强友好往来、拓展合作空间，他将全力支持双方深化旅游、经贸、文化等方面的交流合作。老挝、乌兹别克斯坦、突尼斯、泰国、英国等驻华领事馆官员也表示，各国与汕头人文商贸往来密切，未来合作空间广阔，总领事馆将继续发挥桥梁纽带作用，推动各国与汕头优势产业实现双赢发展。
