Recently, the second leg of the Wide-reaching Performing Tour of "Opera ‘Qiaopi’• Hometown of Overseas Chinese" was presented at the Shantou Lim Por-yen International Convention and Exhibition Center, attracting numerous spectators including overseas Chinese leaders and nearly 2000 citizens. This performing tour was guided by the Cultural Exchange Department of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Guangdong Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee and the Zhuhai Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and organized by the Zhuhai Performing Arts Group.

The opera "Qiaopi" (correspondence and remittance documents from overseas Chinese) is set against the backdrop of Tangjiawan Town in Zhuhai City. Starting from the story of a "Pi" (correspondence document) left by an overseas Chinese worker Liang Chengru on his deathbed, it is developed through two contexts including "integrity" and "family affection", showcasing the mindset of overseas Chinese who loved China, their hometowns, and their family members. By tapping into the cultural connotations of "Qiaopi", it also presents the difficult entrepreneurial history and the story of overseas Chinese who acted with credibility and integrity, lived up to their commitments, and demonstrated a deep concern for China and Chinese people.

　　“歌剧《侨批》·中国侨乡”万里行巡演活动走进汕头

　　近日，由中国侨联文化交流部、广东省侨联指导，珠海市委宣传部、珠海市侨联主办，珠海演艺集团承办的“歌剧《侨批》·中国侨乡”万里行巡演活动第二站在汕头林百欣国际会展中心献演，吸引了众多侨领和近两千名市民到场观演。

　　歌剧《侨批》以珠海唐家湾为背景，从讲述华工梁诚如临终留下的一封“批”开始，围绕“诚信”和“亲情”两条脉络，展现了华人华侨爱国、爱乡、爱亲人的精神面貌；也通过挖掘“侨批”文化内涵，表达海外华侨讲信誉、守承诺的艰难创业史与浓厚的家国情怀故事。
