From June 8 to 10, the 2024 Shantou Duanwu Dragon Boat Race and the First Rural Dragon Boat Culture Activities, jointly organized by Shantou Media Convergence Group and Shantou Dragon Boat Sports Association, were held in Gounan Community, Jinping District, presenting a dragon boat culture feast for the citizens and tourists.
Gounan Community has a history of dragon boat race for more than 200 years and has been named Shantou’s home of folk art in terms of the dragon boat race. There are four dragon boat teams in Gounan Community, which are composed of local residents. All the four dragon boat teams participated in the dragon boat race this time. On the venue of the event, two dragon boats specially used for the international dragon boat race were showcased. In particular, the traditional practices during the Dragon Boat Festival, including wrapping glutinous rice in bamboo leaves, hanging moxa grass, and organizing the dragon boat race, were also held, further deepening people's understanding of the dragon boat folklore culture. Some foreign students from the School of International Education of Shantou University also organized a team to participate in the dragon boat race, experiencing the charm of traditional dragon boat culture. During the event, Yingge dance, square dances, cultural performances and other exciting programs, as well as the "Dragon Boat Festival Food Carnival", were organized con-currently, so that the citizens and tourists could have an up-close appreciation of Chaoshan Intangible Cultural Heritage, and get fully immersed in tasting the "Dragon Boat Banquet" and other Chaoshan cuisine, experiencing the unique charm of traditional culture.

2024汕头端午龙舟赛暨首届乡村龙舟文化系列活动启动
6月8日至10日，由汕头融媒集团、汕头市龙舟运动协会联合主办的2024汕头端午龙舟赛暨首届乡村龙舟文化系列活动在金平区沟南社区举行，为市民游客献上一场龙舟文化盛宴。
沟南有200多年的赛龙舟历史，被命名为汕头市赛龙舟民族民间艺术之乡。社区现有四支龙舟队，都由当地居民组成，并参加了此次龙舟赛。活动现场特别展示了两艘国际龙舟赛专用龙舟，以及包粽子、挂艾草、赛龙舟等端午节传统习俗，进一步加深大家对龙舟民俗文化的认识。汕头大学国际学院的多名外籍学生也组团挥桨竞逐，体验传统龙舟文化魅力。活动期间，英歌舞、广场舞、文艺表演等精彩节目和“端午美食嘉年华”同步上演，让市民游客在近距离体验潮汕非遗、沉浸式品尝“龙舟宴”等潮汕美食中，感受传统文化的独特魅力。
