On the afternoon of June 13, under the guidance of Xue Huijun, Director of the Hong Kong Island Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong S.A.R., a delegation of the Chaoren Association from Hong Kong Island, led by Wu Jiarong, President of Hong Kong Island Chaoren Association, visited Shantou They renewed their hometown feelings with relevant officials of Shantou, and sought development opportunities for Shantou together.
During the discussion, Mayor Zeng Fengbao hoped that Hong Kong Island Chaoren Association and all the sages of Teochew descent would, as always, care about and support Shantou, and unite and lead the elites from all walks of life in Hong Kong to visit Shantou frequently for inspection and exchanges, for the purpose of jointly pursuing the vision of booming business operations. Xue Huijun said that the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong S.A.R. will maintain extensive contacts with Teochew social organizations in Hong Kong which love the country and love Hong Kong, and promote in-depth exchanges between Hong Kong and Shantou, to achieve common development. Wu Jiarong said that Hong Kong Island Chaoren Association would continue to give full play to its role as a bridge, promote in-depth exchanges and close contacts between Hong Kong and Shantou in trade, industry and other aspects, and encourage more people of Teochew descent in Hong Kong to participate in the construction and development of Shantou.

香港区潮人联会访问团莅汕
6月13日下午,由中央政府驻港联络办港岛工作部部长薛惠君随团指导,香港区潮人联会会长吴家荣担任团长的香港区潮人联会访问团一行莅汕,与我市畅叙桑梓情谊,共谋家乡发展。
市长曾风保在座谈中希望香港区潮人联会和各位乡亲贤达一如既往关心支持汕头,团结带领香港各界精英才俊,常来汕头考察交流,共谋兴业愿景。薛惠君表示,香港中联办将广泛联系香港各爱国爱港潮汕社团组织,促进香港与汕头深入交流,实现共同发展。吴家荣表示,香港区潮人联会将继续发挥好桥梁纽带作用,促进香港与汕头在商贸、产业等方面深入交流、密切来往,推动更多在港潮人参与汕头的建设和发展。
在汕期间,访问团一行还实地走访参观了汕头开埠文化陈列馆、侨批文物馆、小公园开埠区等地。
