On the morning of August 10, Malaysia’s first Yingge Dance Troupe, the Yixing Yingge Dance Troupe of Johor Chiu Chow Eight Towns Club, was established in Johor Bahru, the capital city of the state of Johor, with the purpose to better promote and inherit this intangible cultural heritage project with Chinese traditional characteristics in Malaysia.

Johor Bahru and Shantou have established a sister-city relationship. Over the years, the two cities have advanced cooperation in a wide range of areas such as culture, tourism, and economy. In May this year, the Johor Chiu Chow Eight Towns Club organized a delegation to Shantou to learn Chaoyang Yingge Dance, a national-level intangible cultural heritage item.

On the event venue, the organizers held the ceremonies such as handing over the troupe flag, exchanging souvenirs, and worshiping the gavel of Yingge dance troupe, officially establishing the first Yingge Dance Troupe in Malaysia. The Shantou Chaoyang Houxi Yingge Dance Troupe also came to support the event. The two Yingge Dance Troupes performed on the same stage to better interpret the meaning of inheritance.

　　马来西亚首支英歌队成立

　　8月10日上午，马来西亚首支英歌队——柔佛潮州八邑会馆义兴英歌队在柔佛州首府新山市成立，将在马来西亚更好推广和传承这项具有中华传统特色的非遗项目。

　　新山市与汕头市是友好交流城市，多年来两地在文化、旅游、经济等领域广泛开展交流合作。今年5月，柔佛潮州八邑会馆曾组织考察团赴我市，对国家级非遗项目——潮阳英歌进行学习。

　　活动现场，主办方举行了移交队旗、互送纪念品以及英歌队拜槌等仪式，正式成立马来西亚首支英歌队。汕头潮阳后溪英歌队也专门前来助阵，两支英歌队同场献演，更好诠释传承的寓意。
