On October 15, the first work zone of Bid Section VII of the Guangdong East Intercity Railway Project reached an important milestone -- the first shield machine for Shantou Section successfully started operation at Times Plaza Station in Zhongshan Road Tunnel, marking that the Shantou Section of the Guangdong East Intercity Railway Project officially entered the shield construction phase.

The Zhongshan Road Tunnel of the Guangdong East Intercity Railway is a single-hole double-line tunnel that runs through the core area of Shantou urban area, connecting four underground stations: Longhu Middle School Affiliated to Guangdong University of Education, Times Plaza, Shantou No.1 Middle School, and Bus Terminal. Two shield machines are planned to be operated in both directions at Times Plaza Station. The shield machine that started operation this time is a direct-discharge slurry balance shield machine, which is the first fully enclosed shield machine with a diameter exceeding 10 meters in China. It is equipped with the technologically advanced and fully functional mud circulation system, earth surface subsidence control system, and information guidance system. It is learned that another shield machine for Zhongshan Road Tunnel will be assembled on-site at the beginning of next month.

　　粤东城际铁路汕头段首台盾构机顺利始发

　　10月15日，粤东城际铁路项目7标一工区迎来重要节点——汕头段首台盾构机在中山路隧道时代广场站顺利完成始发，标志着粤东城际铁路项目汕头段正式进入盾构施工阶段。

　　粤东城际铁路中山路隧道为单洞双线隧道，下穿汕头城区核心区域，连接龙湖附中、时代广场、汕头一中、汽车总站4座地下车站，计划投入2台盾构机在时代广场站双向始发。此次始发的盾构机为直排式泥水平衡盾构机，为国内首台直径超过10米级别的全套筒密闭始发的盾构机，搭载了技术先进、功能齐全的泥浆环流系统、地表沉降控制系统、信息化导向系统。据悉，中山路隧道另一台盾构机将于下月初陆续进场组装。
