On October 17, the award-winning projects (individuals) of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023 were announced, which included 8 projects led or participated in by Shantou’s institutions. Among the four projects led by Shantou’s institutions, two projects won the second prize of science and technology progress award, and another two projects won the award for promoting scientific and technological achievements. Among the four projects participated in by Shantou’s institutions, one project won the second prize of natural science award, one project won the first prize of science and technology progress award, one project won the second prize of science and technology progress award, and one project won the award for promoting scientific and technological achievements. In terms of the categories of awards and the number of projects that won the awards, Shantou has set a new record high since the reform of Guangdong Province’s science and technology award system in 2018.

　　10月17日，2023年度广东省科学技术奖获奖项目（个人）揭晓，汕头市单位牵头或参与的8个项目获奖。4个牵头项目中，科技进步奖二等奖2项，科技成果推广奖2项；4个参与项目中，自然科学奖二等奖1项，科技进步奖一等奖1项，科技进步奖二等奖1项，科技成果推广奖1项。奖项类别、项目数量均创2018年省科技奖制度改革以来新高。
