On the afternoon of November 21, Pov Somnang, Special Assistant to the Secretary-General of ASEAN and President of ASEAN Economic & Trade Promotion Association, and his delegation visited Shantou. Vice Mayor Peng Cong’en met with the delegation members and had discussions and exchanges with them.

Pov Somnang congratulated on the full success of the 22nd  Teochew International Convention and the 10th  World Chaoshan Entrepreneurs Convention (“Two Grand Conventions”) in Shantou.He pointed out that ASEAN is China's largest economic and trade partner. Shantou has unparalleled strengths in areas such as marine economy, competitive local industries, and export services. The two sides enjoy broad space for cooperation. He hoped that the economic and trade development of ASEAN and Shantou City would be further promoted in the future, for the purpose of jointly achieving high-quality development and cooperation.

　　东盟贸促会经贸代表团莅汕访问

　　11月21日下午，东盟秘书长特别助理兼东盟经贸促进会会长波尚琅等一行来汕访问，副市长彭聪恩会见代表团一行并座谈交流。

　　波尚琅对第二十二届国际潮团联谊年会和第十届世界潮商大会“两大盛会”在汕头圆满举办表示祝贺。他指出，东盟是中国最大的经济贸易合作伙伴，汕头在海洋经济、优势产业、出口服务等领域具有独特优势，双方合作空间巨大，希望在未来可以进一步推动东盟与汕头的经贸发展，共同实现高质量的发展和合作。
