On the morning of December 30, the Launch Ceremony of the History of Chaoshan  and the Academic Exchange Conference Themed “Overseas Chinese Patriotism and Familial Love Demonstrated in Qiaopi, and Their Contribution to Economic and Social Development of Shantou” were held in Shantou. The events were jointly organized by the CPPCC Shantou Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, Guangdong People's Publishing House, Chaoshan Historical and Cultural Research Association, and Chaoshan Historical and Cultural Research Center.

The History of Chaoshan was authored by renowned scholar Professor Huang Ting over a period of more than 20 years. It is a historical and cultural masterpiece that systematically studies the historical development of Chaoshan area. The book consists of 5 volumes with nearly 1.6 million Chinese characters, comprehensively elaborating on the historical changes of Chaoshan area from ancient times to modern times. It conducts comprehensive research on various aspects such as politics, economy, culture, and society, showcasing the development characteristics and evolution laws of Chaoshan area in different historical periods, and making important contributions to the research and inheritance of Chaoshan history and culture.

　　《潮汕史》首发式暨学术交流会在汕头举办

　　12月30日上午，由市政协、市委宣传部、广东人民出版社、潮汕历史文化研究会、潮汕历史文化研究中心联合主办的《潮汕史》首发式暨“侨批中的家国情怀和华侨对汕头经济社会发展的贡献”学术交流会在我市举行。

　　《潮汕史》由著名学者黄挺教授历时20多年所著，是一部系统研究潮汕地区历史发展的历史文化力作。该书共5册近160万字，全面阐述了潮汕地区从远古到近现代的历史变迁，对政治、经济、文化、社会等各个方面进行了综合研究，展现了潮汕地区在不同历史时期的发展特点和演变规律，为潮汕历史文化的研究与传承作出了重要贡献。
