On the afternoon of February 12, Shen Yongjun, Consul General of the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou, and Chen Xiuling, Deputy Consul General of the Malaysian Consulate General in Guangzhou, were invited to Shantou to participate in the 2025 Shantou Small Park International Lantern Show. During their visit, they engaged in discussions with Shantou City officials about enhancing cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, culture, tourism, and education.

During the discussion meeting, Mayor Chen Tao expressed his hope that officials from the Consulates General of Thailand and Malaysia in Guangzhou would continue to support the construction and development of Shantou. He encouraged them to visit Shantou more frequently, strengthen friendship and mutual trust, and expand areas of cooperation, for the purpose of achieving mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes. Shen Yongjun and Chen Xiuling affirmed that the consulates general would continue to serve as bridges, proactively fostering communication, strengthening friendly exchanges, deepening practical cooperation, and collaborating with Shantou to achieve mutually beneficial cooperation at a higher level and with greater depth.

　　2月12日下午，泰国驻广州总领事馆总领事沈勇俊、马来西亚驻广州总领事馆副总领事陈秀玲一行应邀莅汕参加2025年汕头小公园国际元宵灯会，并与我市就深化经贸、文化、旅游、教育等领域合作进行座谈交流。

　　市长陈涛在座谈中希望泰国、马来西亚驻广州总领事馆官员能一如既往关心支持汕头建设和发展，多到汕头考察访问，增进友谊互信，拓展合作领域，实现互利共赢。沈勇俊、陈秀玲表示，总领事馆将继续发挥桥梁纽带作用，积极搭建交流平台，进一步加强友好往来、深化务实合作，携手实现更高水平、更深层次的互利共赢。
