On February 20, Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, Thailand, and Shen Yongjun, Consul General of the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou, along with their delegation, visited Shantou to engage in in-depth discussions with local officials regarding further expansion of exchanges and cooperation.
During the discussion meeting, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, highlighted the solid foundation and numerous opportunities for Shantou and Bangkok to deepen their exchanges, promote mutual learning, and pursue collaborative growth in fields like urban renewal, cultural tourism, the digital economy, and green development, among others. He expressed optimism that both cities would strengthen their ties and cooperation, work together for mutual benefits and win-win outcomes, and elevate the sister-city relationship between Shantou and Bangkok to a new level. Chadchart Sittipunt said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Shantou and Bangkok. He expressed hope that the two cities would advance people-to-people and cultural exchange, continue to expand cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, clean energy, healthcare, and cultural tourism, and contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship characterized by the "China-Thailand Family-like Relationship". Shen Yongjun said that the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou would continue to serve as a bridge and link, proactively creating a platform for exchange, further expanding the areas of cooperation, adding new dimensions to Shantou-Bangkok cooperation, and fostering the continuous deepening of the sister-city relationship between Shantou and Bangkok.

泰国曼谷市市长差察·斯提潘一行莅汕
2月20日，泰国曼谷市市长差察·斯提潘、泰国驻广州总领事馆总领事沈勇俊一行莅汕，与我市就进一步拓展交流合作进行深入会谈。
市委书记温湛滨在座谈中表示汕头和曼谷两地在深化城市更新、文旅产业、数字经济、绿色发展等领域交流互鉴、合作发展上有着深厚的基础和广阔的空间，希望进一步加强交流合作，携手实现互利共赢，推动友城关系迈上新台阶。差察·斯提潘表示，今年是汕头和曼谷缔结为友好交流城市25周年，希望与汕头进一步密切人文往来，持续拓宽经贸投资、清洁能源、医疗卫生、文化旅游等领域合作，为巩固发展“中泰一家亲”传统情谊作出贡献。沈勇俊表示，总领事馆将继续发挥桥梁纽带作用，积极搭建交流平台，进一步拓展合作领域、丰富合作内涵，推动友城关系不断深化。
