On March 26, at a depth of 68 meters beneath the seabed of Shantou Bay, as the cutter head of the "Yongping" shield machine with a diameter of 14.57 meters broke through the rock, the world's first single-tunnel double-track high-speed railway undersea tunnel designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour - the Shantou Bay Undersea Tunnel of the Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway was successfully connected.

The Shantou Bay Undersea Tunnel is 9,781 meters long, spanning the sea area for the main channel of Shantou Bay, with its deepest point being 98.5 meters from the sea surface. The sea area where the Tunnel is located falls within an 8-degree high-intensity earthquake zone, requiring the tunnel body to traverse 17 fault fracture zones. During construction, it is necessary to overcome world-class challenges, including nearly 100 meters of ultra-high water pressure, severe chloride salt erosion, multiple fault structures, and varying strata hardness. The Shantou Bay Undersea Tunnel has been successfully connected, setting multiple records. It is the world's first single-tunnel, double-track high-speed railway undersea tunnel capable of speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour. Furthermore, it features the largest excavated diameter for a completed railway undersea tunnel globally. Notably, it is China’s railway undersea tunnel that crosses the largest-number active faults, and it withstands the highest water pressure compared any other undersea tunnel in China.

　　汕头湾海底隧道成功贯通

　　3月26日，在汕头湾海底68米深处，随着直径14.57米的“永平号”盾构机刀盘破岩而出，世界首座设计时速350公里单洞双线高铁海底隧道——汕汕铁路汕头湾海底隧道成功贯通。

　　汕头湾海底隧道全长9781米，横跨汕头湾主航道海域，最深处距离海面98.5米。隧道所处海域位于8度高烈度地震区，洞身需穿越17处断层破碎带，建设过程中要克服近百米超高水压、高氯盐侵蚀、多断层构造、地层软硬不均等世界级施工难题。汕头湾海底隧道实现贯通，一举创造了多项纪录：世界首座设计时速350公里单洞双线高速铁路海底隧道；世界已贯通最大开挖直径铁路海底隧道；国内穿越活动断层最多的铁路海底隧道；国内开通水压最大的海底隧道。
