On April 21, Olivier Hoarau, Mayor of Le Port on the French island of Réunion, along with his delegation, visited Shantou, where they held in-depth discussions with local officials about further strengthening cooperation in culture, sports, industry and other areas between the two regions.
During the meeting, Shantou's Deputy Mayor Peng Congen said that Le Port and Shantou are both port cities with broad prospects for cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, culture, tourism, and education. He hoped that the visiting delegation would frequently come to Shantou for inspections, exchanges, leisure, vacations, and food tasting, for the purpose of strengthening friendship and mutual trust, broadening cooperation, and achieving mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes. Olivier Hoarau highly praised Shantou's excellent urban environment, profound historical heritage, and dynamic economic vitality. He hoped that this inspection visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two cities, promote mutual understanding and amity between their peoples, and yield more fruitful exchange outcomes.
During their stay in Shantou, the delegation also visited Chaoshan Historical and Cultural Expo Center, Shantou Dragon Boat Sports Association, Shantou Golds Precision Technology Co., Ltd., Shantou Chenghai District Hongteng Toy Exhibition Hall, the Offshore Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park with "four integrations" (the integration of RD and design; the integration of technological processes; the integration of production and manufacturing; and the integration of testing and certification), and Shanghai Electric's Shantou Intelligent Base.

法属留尼汪岛勒波尔市访问团一行莅汕
4月21日，法属留尼汪岛勒波尔市市长奥利维耶·霍罗一行莅汕，与我市就进一步加强两地文化、体育、产业等领域交流合作进行深入探讨。
副市长彭聪恩在会见中表示，勒波尔与汕头同为港口城市，在经贸、文旅、教育等方面具有广阔合作前景，希望访问团常来考察交流、休闲度假、品尝美食，增进友谊互信，拓展合作领域，实现互利共赢。奥利维耶·霍罗高度赞誉我市良好的城市环境、深厚的历史底蕴、旺盛的经济活力，希望以此次考察访问为契机，切实推动两地深度合作，促进人民相知相亲，形成更加丰硕的交往成果。
在汕期间，访问团一行还前往潮汕历史文化博览中心、汕头市龙舟运动协会、汕头市高德斯精密科技有限公司、汕头市澄海区宏腾玩具展厅、“四个一体化”海上风电装备制造产业园、上海电气汕头智能制造基地参观考察。
