On May 19, the 12th Taiwan Youth Lingnan Tour Guangdong World Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage Exploration Camp, along with the 8th Nan'ao Acacia Flower Series of Events, officially kicked off at the Chaoshan Historical and Cultural Expo Center.
Ma Xiaoguang, Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), stated in his speech that ARATS would continue to support and promote people-to-people exchanges across the Straits, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and work to broaden the path toward integrated cross-Straits development. He hoped that young people across the Straits would continue to participate in integrated cross-Straits development through personal practices, and jointly write a chapter of youth worthy of history and our times. Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, warmly welcomed young friends from Taiwan to Shantou for exchanges and development. He invited them to join forces with youth from Guangdong and Shantou to create meaningful progress and enrich their lives in this vibrant and thriving region. Yu Muming, former chairman of Taiwan’s New Party, hoped that Taiwan youth would take advantage of this unique opportunity to see, hear and experience more in Shantou, and motivate more Taiwanese to actively engage in interactive exchanges with the mainlanders to deepen mutual understanding and friendship, working together to contribute to the great cause of national rejuvenation. Wang Yucheng, the Party Affairs Consultant of Taiwan’s People First Party, hoped that Taiwan youth would fully embrace the idea that “nothing ventured, nothing gained”. He encouraged them to leverage their talents and actively pursue opportunities in Guangdong Province—a region known for its economic prosperity, openness, and inclusiveness—so they can share in the fruits of the mainland’s development.
