On May 30, the Shantou Cross-border Digital Economy Industrial Park was officially launched with a grand ceremony in the Shantou Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone. Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, and Wang Jianwei, Vice President of China Information Technology Industry Federation attended the event and delivered speeches. Chen Qiang, Deputy Director of the Big Data Development Department of the State Information Center, and Zeng Shengquan, Level I Bureau Rank Official of the Cyberspace Administration of Guangdong Province, attended the event. At the launch ceremony, several investment promotion policies were announced, and agreements were signed for project cooperation as well as for businesses to establish themselves in the Park.
The Shantou Cross-border Digital Economy Industrial Park is situated in the Xinxi Zone of Shantou City's East Coastal New Town. It covers a planned site area of 900 mu [60 hectares] and will be developed in two phases. In terms of industrial and spatial positioning, the Shantou Cross-border Digital Economy Industrial Park takes the cross-border data flow industry as the core, and industrial digitalization and digital industrialization as the chains. It attracts a diverse mix of residents, including university research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, and leading companies. Together, they form an integrated industrial development system described as "one core, two wings, and multiple nodes". Currently, projects like the Digital Science and Technology Innovation Base, the China Unicom 5G Innovation Operation Center, and the Shenzhen-Shantou Collaborative Innovation Science and Technology Park have been implemented within the Shantou Cross-border Digital Economy Industrial Park.

汕头跨境数字经济产业园正式启动
5月30日，汕头跨境数字经济产业园启动仪式在华侨试验区隆重举行。市委书记温湛滨、中国电子信息行业联合会副会长王建伟出席活动并致辞。国家信息中心大数据发展部副主任陈强、省委网信办一级巡视员曾胜泉出席活动。启动仪式上还发布多项招商政策，进行项目合作和企业入驻签约。
汕头跨境数字经济产业园位于我市东海岸新城新溪片区，规划用地面积900亩，分两期建设。在产业和空间定位上，产业园以跨境数据流动产业为核心，以产业数字化、数字产业化为链条，吸引高校科研机构、中小企业、龙头企业等入驻，打造“一体两翼多点”产业发展体系。目前，园区已落地数字科创基地、联通5G创新运营中心和深汕科创产业园等项目。
