On July 2, a series of events featuring the "Images of Opera Troupes Captured on Film" Chaozhou Opera Film Exhibition Month took place at the theater in the Chaojin Tower. These events were hosted by the Guangdong Chaozhou Opera Development and Reform Foundation and the Shantou Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, with co-sponsorship from the Guangdong Chiu-Chow Opera Theatre, Shantou Cultural and Art School, and the Shantou Municipal Association of Dramatists.

During the events, the classic Chaozhou opera film The Tale of the Lychee Mirror was screened. This opera has endured for nearly 500 years and continues to be performed on the Chaozhou opera stage. The Tale of the Lychee Mirror, a story from an ancient manuscript, is rich and intricate. Over generations, artists have continuously adapted and refined the text, music for voices, and performances, giving rise to various versions of the story, such as Chen San and Wuniang, The Continuing Tale of the Lychee Mirror, and The Trial of Chen San. Thanks to the combined efforts of many parties, some endangered classic films have been preserved, and nearly ten classic Chaozhou opera films—beloved both at home and abroad since the 1960s—have been restored. Next, the organizers will screen these classic Chaozhou opera films to broaden the reach of Chaozhou opera across China and help it shine more brightly in the new era.

“梨园光影 胶片记忆”潮剧电影展演月启动

　　7月2日，由广东省潮剧发展与改革基金会、市文联主办，广东潮剧院、汕头文化艺术学校、市戏剧家协会协办的“梨园光影 胶片记忆”——潮剧电影展演月系列活动在潮金大厦剧场举行。

　　活动放映潮剧老电影《荔镜记》。这出戏绵延近五百年，至今仍保留在潮剧舞台上。《荔镜记》古本故事生动曲折，经过一代代艺人对文本、唱腔和表演的不断修改加工，有《陈三五娘》《续荔镜记》《审陈三》等不同故事版本。在多方努力下，濒危的老胶片得以抢救，上世纪60年代以来风靡海内外的近十部潮剧经典老电影得以重现。下来，主办方将安排这批潮剧老电影进行展演，扩大潮剧剧种在全国的影响力，推动潮剧在新时代绽放出更加迷人的光彩。
