A delegation from the Fellowship Association of Successive Hong Kong and Macao Members of the CPPCC Committees of Chaozhou, Shantou and Jieyang visited Shantou from August 14th to 16th. The delegation was composed of more than 80 people. They met with local officials to reconnect with their hometowns, strengthen familial bonds, and jointly explore good strategies of development.Mayor Chen Tao met with the delegation and gave an overview of Shantou's economic and social development.
The delegation visited the Offshore Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park with "four integrations" (the integration of RD and design; the integration of technological processes; the integration of production and manufacturing; and the integration of testing and certification). In addition, the delegation took part in two events organized by the CPPCC Shantou Committee: the ceremony marking the completion and release of the comic book titled Wholeheartedly Devoted to China — Zhuang Shiping, A Patriotic Financial Wizard; and the Gathering of Hong Kong and Macao Members of the CPPCC Committees from Chaozhou, Shantou and Jieyang, where they discussed unity, friendship, and the development of their hometowns.During their stay in Shantou, the delegation toured several key sites to gain an in-depth understanding of Shantou's construction of key transportation projects and development of "three new, two special and one big" industries ("three new industries" refer to new energy, new materials and new generation of electronic information industries; "two special industries" refer to two traditional industries with distinctive local features, namely, textile and clothing and creative toys; and "one big industry" refers to big health industry). Their itinerary included visits to the East Guangdong Intercity Railway Construction Project, Sirio Pharma Co., Ltd., Shantou International Textile City, the Guangdong Provincial Laboratory of Chemistry and Fine Chemical Industry, and the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

潮汕三市政协历届港澳委员联谊会考察团莅汕考察
8月14日至16日，潮汕三市政协历届港澳委员联谊会考察团一行80多人莅汕，共叙乡情亲情，共商发展良策。市长陈涛会见考察团一行，并介绍汕头经济社会发展情况。
考察团参观了“四个一体化”海上风电装备制造产业园，参加了市政协举办的《丹心系华夏——金融赤子庄世平》连环画定稿付梓仪式，以及“感知汕头 宣介汕头”潮汕三市政协港澳委员茶话会，畅谈团结友谊，共话家乡发展。在汕期间，考察团还参观了粤东城际铁路建设项目、仙乐健康科技股份有限公司、汕头国际纺织城、化学与精细化工广东省实验室、广东以色列理工学院等，深入了解汕头“三新两特一大”产业发展和重点交通项目建设情况。
