On the morning of August 19th, the Kick-off Conference of the Major Part of the 2×1000MW Coal-fired Power Generation Expansion Project of Huadian Shantou Power Plant was held in Haimen Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City. Mayor Chen Tao announced the official kick-off of the major part of the Project.

The Project is a key project under Guangdong Province's 14th Five-year Plan for Energy Development and an important strategic energy project deployed by China Huadian Corporation in Guangdong Province.The Project is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2027. Once completed, it will serve as a key power source for Guangdong's grid in eastern Guangdong, playing an important role in providing base load, peak shaving, and backup capacity. It is crucial for improving the grid's supply reliability, stabilizing regional voltage, and enhancing the disaster resistance and assurance capability of power systems. Additionally, it will greatly increase power supply capacity in eastern Guangdong and strengthen the province's energy self-sufficiency.

华电汕头电厂2×1000MW燃煤发电扩建项目主体工程开工

　　8月19日上午，华电汕头电厂2×1000MW燃煤发电扩建项目在我市潮阳区海门镇举行主体工程开工推进会，市长陈涛宣布项目主体工程正式开工。

　　该项目是广东省“十四五”能源发展规划重点项目，也是中国华电在广东省布局的重要战略能源项目。项目计划2027年底全面投产，建成后将成为广东电网在粤东的主力电源之一，承担带基荷、调峰、备用的重要作用，对电网提高供电可靠性、稳定地区电压，提高电力系统抗灾保障能力具有重要意义，也将显著提升粤东电力供应能力，增强广东省能源自主供应水平。
