Recently, the 3rd Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China was held in Zhengzhou. A team of teachers and students from Shantou Technician College created dough modelling artworks themed "107 Warriors of Chaoyang Yingge Performance" and submitted them in the exhibition. Their artworks were featured in the competition's "Top Ten Unique Skills" exhibition and quickly became the "Most Popular Exhibits" in Guangdong Exhibition Hall.
This set of artworks took three months to create. They are based on the 2008 national intangible cultural heritage "Dough Modelling Skills" and innovatively blend the elements of the 2006 national intangible cultural heritage "Chaoyang Yingge Dance". They incorporate the facial makeups, costumes, and dance postures of the Yingge Dance characters into the dough modelling, combining the delicacy of the dough modelling with the masculinity of the Yingge dance. They are the first set of "Dough Modelling + Yingge Dance" artworks integrated with dual intangible cultural heritages in China to grandly gather and comprehensively present 107 Warriors of Chaoyang Yingge Performance in physical form.
