Top Teochew Chefs Host Training Class for Overseas Chinese in Shantou

On October 17, the Top Teochew Chefs' Training Class for Overseas Chinese, themed "Authentic Shantou Cuisine, A Legacy Shared Worldwide", kicked off at Guangdong Yuedong Technician College. Twenty-four representatives from overseas Chinese associations and the culinary industry—hailing from 12 countries across five continents—gathered in Shantou for a nine-day deep dive into Chaoshan culinary culture.


The event was co-organized by the Shantou Municipal Bureau of Overseas Chinese Affairs, the Shantou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Guangdong Yuedong Technician College, with Shantou’s top Teochew chefs specially invited to lead the sessions. The course features hands-on training in traditional Teochew cuisine, Teochew snacks, Teochew braised delicacies, and the Gongfu tea ceremony. It also includes study tours to the historic Port-Opening Area of Shantou's Small Park and Haojiang District. Through these experiences, the course aims to sharpen the professional skills and cultural awareness of overseas Chinese in overseas catering, further pool the support and energy of overseas Chinese nationals, and promote Teochew cuisine worldwide.

潮菜名师海外侨胞培训班在汕开班

  10月17日,“至味汕头 传承四海”潮菜名师海外侨胞培训班在广东省粤东技师学院拉开帷幕。来自全球五大洲12个国家的24位海外侨团和餐饮界侨胞代表齐聚一堂,开启为期9天的潮汕美食文化深度学习之旅。

  此次活动由市侨务局、市侨联、广东省粤东技师学院共同主办,特邀我市潮菜名家大师授课。课程涵盖传统潮菜、潮汕小吃、潮汕卤味、工夫茶艺等实践教学体验,并将组织前往小公园开埠区和濠江区开展系列研学活动,切实提升海外餐饮从业侨胞的专业技能与文化素养,进一步凝聚侨心侨力,助力潮汕美食文化香飘世界。
