Recently, Shantou University and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Thailand held an unveiling ceremony for their jointly established "Thailand Research Center", marking a key step taken by Shantou University in leveraging the resources of top-level overseas Chinese associations to advance innovative development in the work related to Chinese nationals overseas.

At the event, significant academic achievements were released, including the Thailand volume of the Oral History of Overseas Chinese of Chaoshan Descent. Additionally, the "Qiaoxin Academy" (a library and cultural hub for the global Chinese community), jointly established by Shantou University's Research Institute of Global Chinese and Area Studies and the Chinese Overseas Publishing House, was officially inaugurated. It aims to pool the support and energy of overseas Chinese nationals, enhance cultural dissemination, and serve the overseas Chinese community. Shantou University's research on the "Oral History of Overseas Chinese of Chaoshan Descent" has become a systematic cultural program. In addition to the work related to Thailand, the research team has first completed the collection of historical materials on representative overseas Chinese leaders in countries such as Laos, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

汕头大学与泰国中华总商会举行共建“泰国研究中心”揭牌仪式

　　近日，汕头大学与泰国中华总商会举行共建“泰国研究中心”揭牌仪式，标志着学校在联动海外顶级侨团资源、推动侨务工作创新发展方面迈出了关键一步。

　　活动现场发布《海外潮籍华侨华人口述史》泰国卷等重要学术成果，由汕头大学区域国别与华侨华人研究院与中国华侨出版社共建的“侨心书苑”正式启用，旨在凝聚侨心侨力，加强文化传播，服务侨胞社群。汕头大学的“潮籍华侨华人口述史”研究已形成系统性的文化工程。除泰国外，研究团队已率先完成老挝、马来西亚、菲律宾等国代表性侨领的史料采集工作。
