
On December 11, the G8483 Fuxing test EMU (Electric Multiple Units) departed slowly from Shantou Railway Station toward Shantou South Railway Station along the Shantou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway. This event marked the entry of the Shantou-Shantou South Section of the Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway into the timetable-based operation test stage, indicating that the full line's opening and operation is in its final countdown phase.
The Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway starts from Shantou Railway Station and ends at Shanwei Railway Station, with a main track length of 162 kilometers. Among them, the Shanwei-Shantou South Section was already opened for operation in December 2023. The Shantou-Shantou South Section passed its preliminary acceptance inspection on December 8 of this year, and all tests in the joint commissioning and testing phase have now been completed, making it ready for the trial operation stage.
As the first high-speed railway in eastern Guangdong designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h, the Shantou–Shanwei High-speed Railway will be fully connected once the Shantou South–Shantou Section opens. This will significantly shorten travel times between regions and provide strong impetus for eastern Guangdong’s integration into the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

汕汕高铁全线开通进入“倒计时”
12月11日,G8483次复兴号试验动车组从汕头站缓缓驶出,沿着汕汕高铁驶向汕头南站,标志着汕汕高铁汕头至汕头南段进入按图行车试验阶段,全线开通运营进入最后“倒计时”。
汕汕高铁起自汕头站,终至汕尾站,正线全长162公里。其中,汕尾至汕头南段已于2023年12月开通运营;汕头至汕头南段于今年12月8日通过初步验收,目前联调联试阶段的各项试验内容已全部完成,具备进入试运行阶段的条件。
作为粤东地区首条设计时速350公里的高速铁路,汕汕高铁汕头南至汕头段开通后,将实现全线贯通,大幅缩短区域时空距离,为粤东加速融入粤港澳大湾区注入强劲动能。
