On December 24, Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport reached a historic milestone as its annual passenger throughput exceeded 10 million, marking its official entry into the ranks of China’s major airports.

On the same day, the municipal governments of Jieyang, Shantou and Chaozhou each signed the Framework Agreement for Strategic Cooperation to Jointly Accelerate the Construction of Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport and Promote High-Quality Economic and Social Development in Eastern Guangdong  with the Guangdong Airport Authority. The parties reached a consensus on key areas, including developing a regional integrated transportation hub, advancing the integration of aviation and tourism, and promoting the growth of industries related to the airport hub.

In recent years, Guangdong Airport Management Group Co., Ltd. Jieyang Chaoshan Airport Company has focused on characteristic development. It now has a modern terminal building covering over 110,000 square meters, an apron of 400,000 square meters, and 46 aircraft parking stands. Its flight area rating is 4E, capable of supporting an annual passenger throughput of 14.5 million. Currently, 27 airlines operate here, with 79 routes and 67 destinations weaving an air travel corridor that covers major cities in China and key regions in Southeast Asia.

潮汕机场年旅客吞吐量突破千万人次

　　12月24日，潮汕机场年旅客吞吐量突破千万人次大关，实现历史性跨越，标志着机场正式跻身全国大型机场行列。

　　当天，揭阳、汕头、潮州三市人民政府分别与广东机场集团签订《共同加快推进揭阳潮汕国际机场建设促进粤东经济社会高质量发展战略合作框架协议》，就打造区域综合交通枢纽、推进航旅融合、拓展临空产业发展等关键领域达成共识。

　　近年来，潮汕机场公司以特色化发展为主线，现已拥有超11万平方米的现代化航站楼、40万平方米的停机坪和46个停机位，飞行区等级达4E级，可满足年旅客吞吐量1450万人次的保障需求。目前共有27家航司在此运营，79条航线、67个通航点织就了覆盖全国重要城市及东南亚主要地区的空中快速通道。
