The Meitan Bridge, a key Guangdong provincial and Shantou municipal project connecting with the Guangdong Provincial Highway 504 and spanning the Nanxi River (a tributary of the Hanjiang River), has completed its asphalt paving and entered the final construction stage. It is expected to officially open to traffic before this year's Spring Festival.

The Meitan Bridge mainline stretches about 2.8 kilometers southeast to northwest. It begins at the at-grade intersection of Guangdong Provincial Highway 504 and China National Highway 324 in the south, crosses the Nanxi River embankment and waterway near the entrance to Meipu Village, and ends at the at-grade intersection of Guangdong Provincial Highway 504 and the Xinan Branch Line of the Chenghai Connection Line on the Chaozhou-Shantou Loop Expressway. The Meitan Bridge's main span reaches 150 meters and was successfully closed in September 2025.

Once completed, the Meitan Bridge will eliminate the natural barrier of the Nanxi River between the Xinan and Dongli riverbanks. This will effectively create a continuous route for the Chenghai section of Guangdong Provincial Highway S504, further enhance the connectivity between local national/provincial trunk highways and expressways, and improve travel conditions for residents in northwestern Chenghai District, including Xinan, Longdu, Dongli, and even parts of Lianshang and Lianxia.

梅潭大桥将于春节前建成通车

　　连通省道504线、跨越韩江支流南溪河的省、市重点项目——梅潭大桥，目前全线沥青已铺设完毕，进入工程收尾阶段，预计将于今年春节前正式建成通车。

　　梅潭大桥主线全长约2.8公里，整体呈东南-西北走向，南起于省道504线与国道324线平交口，于梅浦村口跨越韩江支流南溪河堤岸和水道，终于省道504线与潮汕环线高速公路澄海连接线溪南支线平交。大桥主跨达150米，已于2025年9月顺利实现合龙。

　　梅潭大桥建成后，将打通南溪河溪南、东里两岸的天然阻隔，实质性贯通省道S504澄海路段，进一步加密当地国省干线公路与高速公路互连互通，提升澄海区西北部包括溪南、隆都、东里乃至莲上、莲下部分区域的居民出行条件。
