Recently, China's Permanent Mission to UNESCO hosted a Chinese New Year reception at its Paris headquarters. Wu Zhencheng, a chief technician from the Wu Ji Fu Yuan Technician Workstation at the Guangdong Yuedong Technician College, presented 12 classic Chaoshan dishes in France to promote the custom of "Enjoying the Festivities of the Chinese New Year with Chaoshan Cuisine" to the world.

This event marks the first time that Chinese culinary culture has been showcased in a major, concentrated presentation during an overseas Spring Festival celebration, following the successful inscription of the Spring Festival on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. It is also the debut of Chaoshan's intangible cultural heritage cuisine on the UNESCO stage. At the event, 12 Chaoshan delicacies, including hand-pounded beef balls, Yu Fan (cooked fish rice), braised goose liver, and various kueh (traditional rice-based snacks), won over guests from all countries with their refreshingly mellow flavors. The display booth incorporated the culture of the hometown of overseas Chinese, featuring platters arranged in the shape of a red-headed boat and ornaments of gold-painted plates. Other exquisite cultural creative products of Chaoshan intangible cultural heritage were also displayed, such as books telling the stories of Qiaopi (correspondence and remittance documents from overseas Chinese), Lin Dihuan’s cartoons, paper-cuts for the Year of the Horse, Chaozhou embroidery ornaments, and bamboo-and-oil-paper lanterns. These items were given to guests as souvenirs.

潮汕非遗美食亮相联合国教科文组织

　　近日，中国常驻联合国教科文组织代表团在巴黎总部举办新春招待会。省粤东技师学院吴记富苑技师工作站首席技师吴镇城携12道经典潮菜名菜亮相法国，向世界推广“过大年·食潮菜·贺新春”习俗。

　　本次活动是春节申遗成功后，中国烹饪文化首次在海外春节节点集中呈现，潮汕非遗美食首次登上联合国教科文组织舞台。活动中，手打牛肉丸、鱼饭、卤水鹅肝、各式粿品等十二道潮味以清鲜醇和征服各国嘉宾。展台以红头船造型摆盘、金漆盘摆件融入侨乡文化。讲述侨批故事的书籍、小林漫画、马年剪纸、潮绣摆件、竹编油纸灯笼等潮汕非遗文创精品同步展示，并作为伴手礼赠予嘉宾。
