On March 19, the "Guangdong Products Going Global · Shantou Brands Shining in Hong Kong" campaign took place at Kowloon City Plaza in Hong Kong. Featuring product exhibition and sales, food tastings, and showcases of intangible cultural heritage, the event gave Hong Kong consumers a close-up look at the high quality of "Made in Shantou" goods and the unique appeal of Chaoshan culture. It also built stronger bridges for economic and trade connections, as well as cultural exchange, between Hong Kong and Shantou—boosting the influence and reputation of Shantou brands in the process.

Representatives from 50 top Shantou companies took center stage at the event, highlighting Shantou's industrial achievements in textiles and apparel, creative toys, food processing, stationery, daily chemicals, and home appliances. Exquisite hand-crocheted openwork ornaments, paper cuttings with auspicious designs, and the distinctive flavors of Chaoshan cuisine gave Hong Kong consumers a chance to experience the unique charm of Chaoshan culture up close, while also evoking fond hometown memories for many Chaoshan natives living abroad. At the venue, Shantou specialties like lion-headed goose, peach-shaped kueh (traditional rice puddings), and stewed beef meatballs got everyone’s appetites going, and the guests dug in with gusto. Booths from longstanding Shantou brands drew crowds of Hong Kong foodies, who eagerly sampled the treats.
