On the afternoon of May 14, a delegation led by Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng, President of the Teochew International Federation and President of the Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan, visited Shantou. They held in-depth discussions with local officials on deepening economic, trade, and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Shantou and Singapore, supporting Shantou's high-quality development, and promoting networking among Teochew communities worldwide.

During the meeting, Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, hoped that the Teochew International Federation and the Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan would continue to give full play to their role as bridges, deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation across multiple fields including economy, trade, industries, and culture, and support Shantou in accelerating its high-quality development. Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng said that the Teochew International Federation and the Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan would always remain committed to their ancestral homeland and united with fellow Teochew people, dedicating full efforts to successfully organizing the 24th Teochew International Convention. Furthermore, they would actively leverage their platform to continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation with their hometown, encourage more overseas Teochew people and business communities from various regions to pay attention to, support, and participate in Shantou's development, contribute to the modernization drive of their hometown, and dedicate greater strength to the cause of networking among Teochew communities worldwide.
